The Texas Game Warden Association (TGWA) magazine, “Texas Game Warden” is a quarterly publication that has been in circulation since 1979. TGWA is a 501 (C) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to teaching the youth of Texas how to enjoy fishing, hunting and the outdoors safely and wisely. Our motto is “Conservation for Future Generations.” The outdoor experience available to our grandchildren needs to be one of quality, and it is up to all of us to ensure that.
The magazine has articles written by Game Wardens, representing the 10 Law Enforcement Regions. They write about what outstanding event has occurred in their area or an item of interest about an unusual call that they were dispatched for: sometimes an alligator in a neighborhood, a drug bust in the Gulf, a giant buck that wandered into someone’s backyard, or a hunting camp adventure. They tell about a child’s first fish or first hunting trip and how they taught them about cooking over a campfire or learning to recognize different animals and animal sounds, along with pictures.
