My name is Katherine Philley, and I am graduating as valedictorian from Gary High School in Panola County. I have participated in varsity volleyball, swim, cross country, and tennis, and I also served as Gary’s National Honor Society President during my senior year. I am a certified lifeguard, and I enjoy hiking, hunting, fishing, swimming, and being outdoors in general. I will be attending Texas A&M University in College Station to study Ecology and Conservation Biology in the fall of 2026. I hope to either become an ecologist or a wildlife biologist, and I’m thankful for the financial support from the TGWA.
